Preliminary In-Person “Vision Board” Meeting
When you contact ReThink Enterprise about your custom home, we schedule a preliminary face-to-face meeting to talk about your vision, budget and needs. We want to be sure that we’re a good fit for you and assess whether your desires align with your budget. Part of our commitment to integrity is a willingness to be honest with you about the cost of building your dream home—we won’t make a promise we can’t keep.
Planning And Site Visit
We kick off the process of planning your custom home build by visiting the lot on which your home will be built to evaluate your home location or lot to ensure it will fit the home you’re envisioning. One of ReThink’s owners will meet with you on-site to discuss planning and permitting fees and decide what level of involvement you desire from ReThink. While we can provide architects, engineers and interior designers to work with you on each facet of your home build, developing realistic plans tailored to your budget, we’re also able to collaborate with anyone you may already have on your team.
Planning, Preliminary Engineering, Design & Budget Development
The next phase of a home build includes the completion of engineering testing so we know exactly what we’re working with regarding foundation soils, septic pits, utility access, as well as site elevations and layouts. Upon completion of these tests, we will begin budget development, which is finalized when we finish architectural and structural plans.
Often, our clients have already made these planning steps, in which case we’ll review the plans and create a budget—we’re happy to join our clients wherever they are in the process. We wrap this step up with a meeting to guarantee all parties are on the same page with the plans and budget and confirm that a client is satisfied.
Permitting, Contracting & Ground Breaking
After permits are procured, a contract is signed and the deposit paid, comes one of the most exciting parts of home building—breaking ground. At this point in the process, you will work with an operations and project manager to select interior finishes and fixtures, including flooring, paint, trim, plumbing and electrical fixtures, counter tops, doors and windows—everything that will make a the building your home. The first stages of the process can take anywhere from four months to more than a year, depending on your timeline and needs.
It’s time to see your vision spring to life! We start the building by using our in-house craftspeople to complete the excavation, lay your foundation and complete final grading and septic installation. We frame the house, add exterior coverings and install all exterior doors and windows.
During this building phase, you’ll be glad you went with a “one-stop-shop” for your home because we can ensure your project is done before or at deadline and within your budget. Our project managers and employees will be in constant communication with you regarding each step and aspect of the construction, so you won’t be left wondering when different subcontractors will be completing work. When the house is ready, the highly-skilled tradesmen we employ, who are experts in their field, will outfit your home with the finishing touches, completing all specialty trade work and interior finishes.
